A huge key ring hangs by the door, and in moments you've freed the grateful captives. 'How did you get here?' you ask them. Their leader answers you. 'We were travelling on the road just west of Stillwater when we were ambushed by a band of orcs, at least fifty of them, maybe more. They brought us here, and said the floaters would pay well for us. They said there was some sort of secret hiding place along the road to the south they used as their base of operations.' Thanking you again, they leave the room and make good their escape.

You search the room after the battle, and find a crystal cube. Looking inside it from different angles displays different life-like images. They show raiding parties of orcs, gnolls, and ogres capturing many groups of humans, dwarves and elves. The victims are brought to hiding places, where great caravans then carry them off to the east. At the top of each scene is the single, floating eye of a huge gazer supervising the process with an ever-present toothy grin of satisfaction.

As you collect your treasure, you find a small opening in the far wall. Reaching through it, you press a round metal knob, and a hidden door swings open to show a descending staircase. You hear a grating sound of stone rubbing stone, and look back to see the east wall coming towards you. It has already hidden the door to the north and will crush you in a moment. Left with no alternative, you scamper down the steps to relative safety only instants before the walls come together with a resounding thud. You enter a small room through a hidden door that clicks shut behind you, leaving no trace of its location.
