Kurt's Demise: Rise of the Ku'tan
Thoughts
Long ago I went on a search for an old-school RPG to play. I
happened across Demise: Rise of the Ku'tan. Loved it. Never really play
the online aspect of it; but, the single-player brings me back every so
often. Here's a simple site showcasing some of my utilities for it.
Also, take note: Demise: Rise of the Ku'Tan and related games
e.g. Mordor: Depths of Dejenol and Mordor 2: Darkness Awakening are
trademarks of and Copyright 1994 to 2017, Decklin's Domain http://www.decklinsdemise.com
and used with permission.
Furthermore, I'd love it if someone could pass me any utilities for Demise.
Demise Map Viewer
01.13.09 - updated 12.24.16
Demise Map Viewer fills a small need that I found with the game.
I've always wished that I could expand the map like you can with the
textbox. Well, with a little elbow grease and ingenuity it's now
possible. I now play Demise on one monitor and I have DMV in the
second. It's been tested on multi-player and single-hero single-player
extensively. I've also tested it in full-screen and windowed mode. Be
sure to read the DMV.txt file or the About-box from within DMV
for more information. Download it (3.1MB).

Demise Character
Ladder
02.03.10 - updated 02.27.10
Demise Character Ladder simply submits basic character data to my
server to be included
in the character ladder. View the ladder here. Download it
(42K).
Demise Character
Editor
01.13.09 - updated 02.27.10
Demise Character Editor is a program that allows you edit your
characters. This program allows you to edit the core stats, name and
much more. It's recommended that you backup your DEMISECharacters.DED
file before running this utility--it's been tested quite a bit; but,
you never know. It also replaces two of the utilities from below; the
Demise Core Stat Changer and the Character Reamer. Be sure to read the
About-box from within DCE for more information. Download
it (54K).
Demise Teleport
01.30.10
Abotiz mentioned that it would be nice to be able to send a
character to a specific place in the dungeon. I took that idea and ran
with it to create DTP. With this tool, you can select from a list of
locations that are stored in a comma-delimited file (freely editable!)
and teleport to that location within a single-player game. Download it (40K).
Demise HP Max
01.11.09 - updated 01.21.10
I initially created Demise HP Max as a small test executable to
verify that my memory routine works on multiple machines. Of course, it
also gives unlimited HP while running. Since it proved successful, I'll
share it. Download it (33K).
Demise Quest Remove
01.19.10
Fredrik S. came through again and passed some excellent data in how
to remove the guildmaster quests to level. I've taken his data and with
a bit of my own memory editing I've released DQR. Download
it (35K).
Demise Dungeon Unveil
01.11.09
Demise Dungeon Unveil will mark every map square as visited on your
dungeon map. While working on Demise Map Viewer, I realized that I
wanted maps that were 100% untouched. I didn't want to show any special
squares and I didn't want to show any of my annotations. I reset my
map, ran DDU on it and captured the maps that I needed. It's
recommended that you backup your DEMISEDungeon.DED file before
running this utility. Download it (35K).
Demise Store Engorge
12.22.08 - updated 05.07.09
Demise Store Engorge will add nine of each item of every alignment
to be made available for purchase as well as nine unaligned items too.
Any item available to purchase from the store can now be bought--many
of the items that are not available are there too. Such as cursed
items, crests and other odd items. This utility has been
removed to meet the request of a gentleman.
Demise No Raid
12.21.08
Fredrik S. mentioned a couple of hex edits that could be made to the
internet server of Demise. So, Demise No Raid makes those edits to the DEMISE
Internet Server.exe file. These edits will remove the decrease in
quantity whenever anybody makes a purchase from your Store or the
Companion Store. Download it (29K).
Script, Buffs and a
Link
12.21.08 - updated 05.07.09
A Demise fan reached out to me in February of 2008 and mentioned
that he had created a PHP script to populate the DEMISEStore.DED
with nine of all available items. This would also add nine of each
cursed items and such. A neat script that packs quite the punch. I
had his email archived but I must've missed it somehow. Thanks to
Fredrik for reaching out again. This script has been removed to
meet the request of a gentleman.
In
this conversation there is a AutoHotkey compilation provided by
Ayleim that has a link that is no longer working. I've archived it here
for your availability. Download it
(200K).
I've been remiss to mention another site that has a powerful utility. DemiSentry is
available at the unknown realm
and is capable of automating much of the tedium of running a
multiplayer server for Demise.
Demise Companion
Store Editor
10.25.08 - updated 05.07.09
This utility will allow you to add companions to your store for
purchase from within the game. It's recommended that you backup your DEMISECompanionStore.DED
and DEMISEMonsters.DED files before running this utility --it's
been tested quite a bit on my computer; but, you never know. It
replaces the Companion Store Editor that I released at the end of this
page back in December of 2005. This utility has been removed to
meet the request of a gentleman.
Demise Core Stat
Changer
10.24.08 - replaced by Demise Character Editor 01.11.09
This tool will allow you to edit the six core stats of your Demise
characters. Thanks to Travis for his compliments on this site and the
nudges to make this utility. Since, I've been the only one to test it,
I'd recommend backing up your DEMISECharacters.ded file until
you're comfortable with the DCSC utility. Let me know if you've any
problems. Download it (42K).
Item Editor
12.13.07 - updated 01.04.09
I've also got the Item Editor with source code available. Download it (272K).
Ken Baker's Stuff
10.14.07
I had a reader send me a couple of utilities, a batch file
save/restore system and an old version of ArchKey. When browsing the
batch file it listed a website
that is no more. So I used the WayBack Machine again and pulled up the
1.1 version of the batch file as well as one-hundred portraits.
Unfortunately, the second installation file is corrupt and will damage
portrait forty; but, I was able to open it in PaintShop and resave it.
Also, the installation program for the save/batch file wouldn't install
for me so I used Universal
Extractor to rip out the files.
So, you can browse the
original site for the installation files or download my clean zip
files. I consider the batch file
(5.1K) just a slice of history; but, the portraits
(5.9M) are cleanly done.
Demise Game News
Exporter
09-08-07
Demise Game News Exporter is a small utility to export the
information from the "DEMISEGuildLogs.ded" file. You can then use Excel
or such to view and sort the exported data. Download it (20K).
Demise Guild Log
Exporter
09-08-07
Demise Guild Log Exporter is a small utility to export the
information from the "DEMISEGuildLogs.ded" file. You can then use Excel
or such to view and sort the exported data. Download it (23K).
Character Renamer
09.03.07 - replaced by Demise Character Editor 01.11.09
So now you can rename any of your Demise characters. Pretty handy
utility. Let me know if you've any problems. Since, I've been the only
one to test it, I'd recommend backing up your DEMISECharacters.ded
file until you're comfortable with the DCR utility. Download it (38K).
Companion Store
Editor
12.19.05 - updated 05.07.09
This program will edit your companion store file with nine of all
companions of all alignments. Yep, that's it. No screenshot for it as
it's DOS based. This utility has been removed to meet the request
of a gentleman.
