Kurt's Kimaru Thoughts

2-6 (15K)

I was reading Computer Gaming World's article on the latest 101 free games and I learned of a neat little gem called Akuji the Demon . I beat the game and then dug a little deeper into the author, Buster, and his site. He created a neat mini-golf game called Kimaru and I became hooked on beating it. If you can discover a way to finish a hole easier than I've listed, please email me. You can download the game here or you can download this game with all the courses unlocked.

I've included the map number for each of the holes on my shot list. You can rename the map files that are found under the "\map" directory to any order you like. The only drawback is that the par isn't adjusted; but, this allows you to play maps that you haven't seen before.

I emailed Buster a short letter of thanks and a question about beating the course on 4-5. He replied and explained the use of the Z key, which allows braking. I learn something new every day. This opened the opportunity to beat the holes that I've been frustrated with.

Shot Selection
03.04.06 - updated 03.05.06

This is my shot selection for the game that gives me the best score for each of the courses. I wouldn't recommend using my shots (unless stuck) as it's more fun to discover them yourself as well as trying to figure out a way to pull a shot off when you might've screwed up. Anyhow, the first number of Shots represents the Shotpower and the second represents the Jump. The graphic below would be shown as 16,3:
